Career Outcomes Data Collection Information
Alabama State University’s Career Services office administers a graduation exit survey each semester to students nearing commencement. The survey captures a point-in-time snapshot of each graduate’s plans as they leave the university, sorted into employment, continuing education, military service, or other outcomes.
Because the survey is collected before graduates start their next step, some fields are voluntary and not consistently completed: employer name, position, and location are not captured for every graduate, and salary is reported as a range rather than a specific figure. A formal follow-up survey administered six or twelve months after graduation — which would allow for more complete, verified outcomes — has been discussed but is not yet in place. Continuing-education plans reflect intent at the time of the survey (including applications and waitlist status), not confirmed enrollment.
Results are shown only for programs with a minimum number of respondents to protect student privacy; smaller graduating cohorts may not be reflected.
